T J STUART

T J Stuart was born in Stranocum, Co Antrim Northern, Ireland. From the early age of nine he started listening to the likes of Big Tom, John Glenn, Philomena Begley but to name a few. At the age of twelve, TJ’s grandmother bought him his very first guitar of which he educated himself to play. At this stage in life he was inspired by Eric Clapton, Chet Atkins and Mark Knophler from Dire Straits. As time went on he took more of an interest in the American artists, such as George Jones, Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings.

When T J left school he went to serve ten years as a carpet fitter but nothing could divert his love for music, so he left and started to write songs. During this time he joined a three piece band, where he played lead guitar. Despite the bands immense success in Europe, singing and song writing was in his heart so he left and began to concentrate on what he loved most.

In 2006 T J entered a competition “search for a new country star”. Thousands of hopefuls auditioned but only a few passed by the unbreakable judging panel. T J need not have worried as his musical talent was undisputable and carried him through to the final where he was runner up. This was an incredible triumph and won him the opportunity to tour with some of America’s finest musicians; Moe Bandy, Gene Watson and Johnny Cash’s lead guitarist. T J also released his first album in this year, “Blowing in the wind”

During the Moe Bandy tour T J was approached by All Country Music and signed a 5 year recording deal with the record label. He now has three albums and two DVD’s to his credit. The album “Rosin on the bow” consist of fifteen, new, original songs penned by T J. Brenda Mulgrew made a guest appearance on “Knocklayde Mountain” and the song was number 1. on The Bristish and Irish Top 10 for four weeks over Christmas 2007.

T J’s new album “This Time” has just been released in September 2008. It contained a lot of his own material and is receiving great reviews and support around the country.

T J is currently working on material for his next album and would like to thank everyone who supported him throughout his journey.
