JASON MCALLISTER

Jason McAllister was born and raised in Killygrammer, a small village just outside of Ballymoney, Co Antrim, Northern Ireland.

He took a keen interest in music from a very young age and taught himself to play the guitar at the tender age of seven. He would listen to the Beatles records attentively and lift the needle on and off to stop it and learn each cord! It’s not surprising that Jason had a natural musical talent as his father and brother were singers and gifted guitar players, with his brother also involved in song writing.

Jason grew up listing to the true giants of country music; Alan Jackson, Merle Haggard, Buck Owens and Dwight Yoakam. Jason is a big fan of Brent Mason and Albert lee Greatly who are two of the worlds top guitar players.

Jason started playing with his dad’s band, and played his first gig at twelve years old. He continued as lead guitarist until he was nineteen but then decided he would branch out and start his own gigs, and set up a studio at home to make the backing tracks.  Since then Jason has been playing in pubs and clubs six nights a week, and has become a household name in Northern Ireland.

His daughter Shannon who is twelve is learning bass guitar and three year old Alix loves music and daddy’s guitar.

More recently Jason penned his first song “fallen angel” that is playing on this page whilst you read. He was playing a gig in a bar one night and a couple of American guys commented that he was a very good musician but bet Jason he couldn’t write a song, so to prove them wrong and illustrate his talents once more, he went home that night and wrote “fallen angel” which made its way to no. 1 on the hot disc charts straight away.

Jason has now signed a five year recording deal with all country music and his new album containing all new material will be released soon.
